Environmental awareness is an integral part of the company's DNA!

Graf-Syteco's sustainable actions are confirmed with an energy certificate from the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control.

Handling the valuable resource energy has not only been on the agenda at Graf-Syteco since the energy crisis. Already company founder Martin Graf cultivated a sustainable way of life and, as a true pioneer, was the first owner of an electric car CityEL in this region in 1991. He not only passed on his ecological thinking to his two sons and successors, but also firmly anchored it in his own company. To this day, his efforts bear fruit and are an important part of the company's DNA.

When it came to planning the new company building in 2013, no compromises were made in the selection of technologies and materials. The building was constructed according to the latest energy standards and still proves to be a showpiece today. Due to the construction method of a passive house, the energy consumption is already below average and is now 40% covered by a photovoltaic system. In addition to the triple glazing, a heat pump according to the latest standards and a concrete core active floor heating system, the building is characterized by its polycrystalline modules mounted all around, which makes it unique. The entire facade is equipped with these electricity-generating modules over an area of 815 m² and, in combination with 102 solar modules on the roof, generates 100% green electricity. Thanks to this system, the company is now only marginally dependent on external energy suppliers and can also supply electricity to four charging columns on the building.

At that time, the entire building was already equipped with LED lighting and motion detectors, so that no complaints were to be expected at the energy audit by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control a few weeks ago. As a pioneer in the field of energy-efficient buildings, Graf-Syteco scored clearly in the energy audit. After careful examination of all relevant energy consumers, including the entire machinery, Graf-Syteco received the certificate according to DIN EN 16247. "There really is no need for optimization," confirms Fabian Graf, part owner of the company, the positive result from the seventy-page analysis. "We are really in an excellent position in terms of energy efficiency." Sustainability is still a top priority for the company's founder. Even at the proud age of 80, Martin Graf still owns his first e-car. An enthusiastic electrical engineer, he still works expertly on his cabin scooter and optimizes the batteries on his 30-year-old vehicle, so that the original range of 50 km has now increased to 200 km.
